- Talk to a friend - find a friend. I arranged 5 people who agreed that I could ring them up at any time and talk about my diet. Now guys do not do this but the very fact that I had set this up meant that I knew they were there. If I did ring them up they knew why - although they were not always sympathetic in the ways I would have anticipated. The reason I think this works is because you have been open about wanting to lose weight with others and you can remind yourself that you have good friends that are routing for you. Rapid weight loss diets need a lot more support because they are so stringent and off the norm.
- Talk to a computer - find a blog. I have found that writing 3 or 4 times a week on a blog has helped me keep focus. I discuss all the difficulties that are particular to a fast weight loss diet. I also find it a distraction from thinking about real food. Writing almost satisfies hunger pangs (I did say almost!). If you do not want to run a blog go and find other diet blogs and forums and join in with the communities. I have many e-friends who I will never meet in person.
