Rather than trying to starve yourself, exercise can better take care of unwanted fat. This is not to say that you can eat anything you want, but a healthy balanced 2000 calories diet with some good cardio is better and safer than simply going on a 1000 calorie diet. KEy focus should be on the type of cardio done.
The best cardio exercises are cycling and boxing. If you google “activity calorie burn chart,” you will see that these two activities burn the most calories, which is usually an indicator of how fast an exercise gets the heart pumping and ultimately the cardio benefits of being more alert, feeling better in general, etc. Whether from the perspective of losing weight or just wanting to release some endorphines to feel great, biking and boxing are two of the best exercises out there.
