First do the easy and simple things. This lets you lose weight quickly and so motivates you to continue. It doesn’t take much effort to get going.
- Remove wasted calories. Throw out any candy and other sugar-laden foods you have laying around, especially after major holidays like Christmas. Make sure there are good alternatives available instead.
- Get active. You don’t have to exercise a lot. Taking the stairs and walking are simple things anyone can do to get more exercise.
- Drink more water. Water is the best beverage for your body. Most people don’t consume enough water throughout the day, so drinking more water is better no mater what. But it also fills you up and kills hunger pangs.
- Eat more frequently. By eating regular meals your metabolism is kept at a steady state, which encourages weight loss.
- Always eat breakfast. Skipping breakfast is a common dieting mistake.
- Drink no-fat milk. Milk is nutritious, but you can cut out some of the calories by switching to a lower-fat milk. If you don’t like the taste of no-fat milk, at least move to low-fat milk.
- Sleep enough. Your body needs its rest to work properly. If you don’t rest enough, your metabolism will be off and that will mess with your weight loss goals.
