Help on the fastest way to lose weight is something that anyone on a diet looks for. To get up in the morning, stand on the scale and discover that 5 pounds have vanished overnight is everybodys dream. So how do you make that come true? Is this achievable?

The truth is that when you start out on a diet, you can lose quite a bit of weight real quick, especially if you have a lot to lose. A lot of this is said to be water, but it does not mean that you are dehydrating. This is what happens with detoxification.

On most healthy diets you will see quick results in the beginning, even if you do not restrict calories, as your body celebrates the fact that it is no longer having to protect itself against the unhealthy foods that were being inflicted on it before.

So to make the most of this and avoid the yo-yo effect (where the weight goes right back on after you stop the diet), here are our top 5 tips on the fastest way to lose weight.

  1. Don’t obsess about the foods you are NOT able to eat, concentrate on what you ARE eating.

    If you obsess over all the foods you have to do without, you will only want them more. Rather than focusing on foods you need to stay away from, work on planning out your meals. Pick out some healthy fresh fruit and veggies. Touch them, smell them, appreciate them fully, both while you are shopping and while you are preparing and eating them.

  2. Make sure there are no upcoming food related events in the near future before you start your diet.It is better to avoid holidays, parties and restaurant meals when you first start off on your diet. Now is the time to get a great start on the new you with fast weight loss, but if you don’t have discipline in the first few weeks, this can be easily ruined. You need to make eating healthy a habit. Later, when you are used to eating healthy everyday, you will have room to be more flexible.
  3. Don’t let your body get too hungry …When we become hungry, our natural reaction is to go for as many calories as possible, as fast as we can, and so at that time your well thought out meal plan is likely to be totally forgotten in the dash to the fridge. Do not allow this to happen. Whether you are hungry or not when you wake up, eat a good breakfast withing a couple hours. Do not skip breakfast and wait for lunch.
  4. … but do not snack when you are not hungry.If you are trying to lose weight, snacking while not hungry is not a good thing. Since you are not hungry, your body is not telling you it is time to eat, so it will not tell you when it is time to stop, either.
  5. Eat plenty of the right foods at every meal.Load up on plenty of ‘negative calorie’ foods like raw vegetables or vegetable soups every time you sit down to eat. Don’t restrict your vegetable and fresh fruit consumption at all, but have as much as you like, while cutting down on everything else. Then wait until you are hungry before eating again. This will help to keep you from always snacking.
