Eating Healthy and Losing Weight

Some of these websites and companies really get on my nerves. They say you can lose weight and continue to eat your cheeseburgers and milkshakes. Well this just isn’t true! It doesn’t matter what way you cut it, if you continue to exercise but eat crappy foods – you will not lose weight, it’s just the way it is. On the other hand, if you decide to eat good but you stay sedentary you won’t lose weight either. You need to have a balanced lifestyle of both exercise and healthy eating. A lot of people automatically assume because you have to eat healthy that it’s going to be stuff like wheat germ and tofu.
This isn’t the case either. Although if you are used to eating fast food every day it might be harder for you to get into healthy eating – but healthy food still can be good food. All right big difference between a cheeseburger and a piece of chicken breast. But when I started to eat healthier, and I realized how bad the bad foods made me feel and how good the good food made me feel, it completely changed my outlook! And it can change your outlook too. One thing I definitely agree with is the whole “you really have to want to lose weight” idea.
I think that if you don’t put your best foot forward – you will trip yourself up. Whereas when you really want to lose weight – you will make it! Don’t worry if you mess up or make a mistake, we all do! But the important thing is if you do make a mistake and have a piece of candy or a cookie is to not fall of the wagon completely. Another thing you really need to make sure you incorporate into your diet besides better and healthier foods is water. Water is one of the best things to drink if you want to lose weight because it helps do a few things for you. For one – it fills you up which means you will feel like you need to eat less.
Two it “detoxes” our body and flushes you out getting rid of all those nasty toxins inside your body. And lastly, water keeps you from retaining salt, which is one of the things that keeps you bloated! Another thing you might want to consider is eating more times a day – but with smaller meals. This helps keep your metabolism going which will help you lose weight quicker and easier. This is another reason why it’s important to stop being sedentary and start moving around more. You don’t have to become an Olympic runner you just need to start moving around more than you usually do. You need your metabolism to keep going!
Some foods you might want to consider; avocados which are filled with good fats, eggs, chicken, seafood, fish (especially salmon which is filled with Omega fats), chicken, any lean meats like turkey. In fact, once in awhile I’ll have an egg white omelet (no cheese!) with a side of turkey bacon. It’s absolutely delicious and it really cuts down on the usual omelet with cheese and pork bacon. Try certain things out, tweak it to your likening. I think you will be really surprised at all the yummy food you can eat that is still really good for you! It’s also important to have the right tools to help you prepare your foods.
